Bend the Rail Round the Tank. Let the Carriage Weave the Seam.
The CRUXWELD DynaFlex 100S is an automated oscillation welding carriage that runs on a flexible spring-steel magnetic track. Wrap the rail round a tank, vessel or pipe — or lay it straight — and the carriage carries a MIG/MAG, FCAW or TIG torch at 0–1200 mm/min with a servo-controlled 0–30 mm weave. Swap the torch for plasma or oxy-fuel and it cuts too.
Automated Welding for Tanks, Vessels and Curved Shells
Long girth seams on storage tanks and vessels are slow and tiring by hand, and a rigid rail cannot follow a curved shell. The DynaFlex 100S uses a flexible magnetic track: 1800 mm spring-steel segments that bend to the shell and lock on with six sets of magnetic blocks each. Join segments for longer runs.
The carriage drives along the rail with a DC motor and planetary gearbox through a rack-and-pinion drive, while a PWM digital controller holds the set speed under load. A servo-controlled oscillator weaves the torch up to 30 mm in one of five modes, so the bead comes out the same from the first metre to the last.
Flexible track
Follows straight, curved and circumferential paths.
Magnetic fixing
Six magnetic block sets per segment — no drilling.
Weld and cut
MIG/MAG, FCAW, TIG, plasma and oxy-fuel torches.
Light carriage
About 10 kg, 320 × 220 × 250 mm.

Five Weave Modes at the Press of a Button
Tap a mode to watch the DynaFlex 100S weave it. The servo oscillator swings the torch across the joint while the carriage travels along the rail, laying the bead you see. Pick the mode with the Mode button on the controller (LED indicators show which one is active), set the stroke from 0 to 30 mm and set the travel speed.
Mode 1 · Straight. No oscillation. Narrow joints and precise work.
Mode 2 · Square wave. Sharp side-to-side motion with a pause at each edge for wider, flat beads.
Mode 3 · Triangle. Zig-zag motion for root passes, thin material and controlled penetration.
Mode 4 · Multi-step. Stepped pattern for deep penetration and multi-pass welding.
Mode 5 · High-speed wave. Fast wavy motion for wide joints and smooth cap passes.
Flexible magnetic track
One Track for Straight, Curved and Circumferential Seams
The spring-steel magnetic track bends to the work, so the same automated oscillation welding carriage runs a straight plate seam, a curved shell or a full girth seam round a tank. 1800 mm segments join for longer runs.
StraightPlate butt and fillet seams on a straight rail.
CurvedRail bent to the shell for curved plates and heads.
CircumferentialGirth seams on tanks, vessels and large pipe.
Set-up
From Rail to Weld in Four Steps
STEP 1
Fix the rail
Bend the flexible track to the shell and let the magnetic blocks lock it on. Join segments for longer seams.
STEP 2
Mount the carriage
Place the carriage on the rail and clamp the welding or cutting torch.
STEP 3
Set speed and weave
Set travel speed, pick a weave mode and set the stroke on the controller.
STEP 4
Weld the seam
Start the carriage; it holds speed and weave while the operator watches the pool.
Why fabricators choose it
What Changes on a Tank or Vessel Job
01
Consistent seams
Set speed and weave give the same bead along the whole circumference.
02
Follows the shell
Flexible track goes where a rigid rail cannot.
03
Quick set-up
Magnetic fixing — no drilling, no welded brackets.
04
One carriage, many jobs
Weld with MIG/MAG, FCAW or TIG; cut with plasma or oxy-fuel.
05
Less operator fatigue
The carriage carries the torch; the welder supervises.
06
Runs on 220 V
Single-phase supply, power consumption of 50 W or less.
Five things to settle before the quotation: price, process, limits, delivery and spares.
PriceThe carriage with servo oscillator is the base. The quotation changes with the number of 1800 mm flexible rail segments (set by your longest seam), torch holder type, and quantity.
What it runsMIG / MAG / FCAW / TIG welding and plasma or oxy-fuel cutting torches, horizontal, vertical or circumferential. The welding power source is yours; the carriage carries and moves the torch.
LimitsTravel 0–1200 mm/min and oscillation stroke 0–30 mm. The rail mounts by magnetic blocks, so it is designed for steel shells and plates; ask our technical team about other surfaces before you order.
DeliveryDelivery time depends on the rail quantity and stock and is confirmed with the quotation. Each carriage is tested before dispatch.
Warranty and sparesWarranty terms are stated in the quotation. Rail segments, magnetic blocks and spares are available from Cruxweld.
Remote pendant, magnetic rail extensions, wire feeder bracket
Specifications are subject to improvement without notice; the quotation and test certificate supplied with the machine are the governing documents. Warranty terms are stated on the quotation / invoice.
What is an automated oscillation welding carriage?
A motorised carriage that carries the welding torch along a rail at a set speed while an oscillator weaves the torch across the joint. The DynaFlex 100S automated oscillation welding carriage runs on a flexible magnetic track, so it works on straight, curved and circumferential seams.
Can the DynaFlex 100S weld round a tank or vessel?
Yes. The flexible spring-steel rail bends to the shell and is held by six sets of magnetic blocks per 1800 mm segment. Segments join for longer runs, including circumferential seams.
Which weave modes does it have?
Five: straight travel, square wave, triangle, multi-step and high-speed wave. The oscillation stroke is adjustable from 0 to 30 mm and is servo-controlled.
Which welding and cutting processes can it carry?
MIG/MAG, FCAW and TIG welding torches, and plasma or oxy-fuel cutting torches.
What travel speed does it give?
Variable from 0 to 1200 mm/min, held by a PWM digital speed controller.
How is the torch adjusted?
The torch holder adjusts ±45° horizontally and ±15° vertically, along with height and standoff.
What power does it need?
Single-phase AC 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz. Power consumption is 50 W or less.
How do I get the DynaFlex 100S price and delivery time?
