Pipe Cutting Machine for Square Cuts and Weld Bevels on Site
A hand-held torch cannot cut a pipe square, and it certainly cannot cut a consistent bevel. A pipe cutting machine fixes the torch to the pipe and drives it around at a steady speed, so the cut is square, the bevel angle is constant and the edge is ready for fit-up without grinding. The TUBOCUT-CS does this with a chain that wraps around the pipe and a motorised carriage that rides on it.
Because the chain is extendable, one machine covers 100 mm pipe in the fabrication shop and 2000 mm penstocks in the field. It runs from 220 V or 110 V and takes either an injector-type oxy-fuel torch or a plasma torch.

How it works
From Pipe to Finished Edge in Four Steps

Wrap the chain
Lay the chain around the pipe, hook it to the carriage and tension it. For larger diameters, add chain links first.

Set the torch
Mount the oxy-fuel or plasma torch, set square or the bevel angle up to 45°, and adjust nozzle-to-pipe distance.

Set the speed
Choose 50–1150 mm/min on the dial or remote to match wall thickness (5–100 mm) and process.

Cut
Pre-heat, start cutting and switch on the drive. The carriage travels the full circumference and the edge comes off clean, with no second operation.
Speed is held constant by SCR control of the 20 W, 10,000 rpm drive motor, so the kerf stays uniform all the way round — the difference between a cut you can weld straight away and one you have to grind.
