ROKR 16K Pedal Operated Spot Welding Machine

ROKR 16K
Pedal operated rocker-arm spot welder · 16 kVA

16 kVA of spot-welding power on a foot pedal. No air, no hydraulics, no fuss.

The CRUXWELD ROKR 16K is a 16 kVA pedal operated spot welding machine for sheet-metal shops that want production-grade spots without a compressor. Water-cooled copper arms, a six-tap current selector, a solid-state weld timer and a heavy spring-loaded electrode force of about 150 kgf give repeatable spots on mild steel up to 3 + 3 mm, stainless to 2.8 + 2.8 mm and brass to 1.5 + 1.5 mm. Press the pedal: the switch fires only after the pre-set force is reached.

Overview

Pedal operated spot welding machine for sheet-metal production

A pedal operated spot welding machine is the workhorse of the sheet-metal shop: no compressed air, no hydraulics, nothing to maintain except electrodes.

The operator positions the parts between two copper electrodes and presses the pedal; the rocker arm closes, a spring on the pressure rod builds the electrode force, and only then does the switch fire the weld, so every spot is made under the same pressure.

The ROKR 16K carries a 16 kVA high-linkage transformer, six current taps from 50% to 100% and a solid-state timer that controls the weld from 5 to 50 cycles (or 1 to 10 s). Arms, holders and electrodes are water-cooled, so the machine holds its settings through a full shift of cabinets, panels, wire mesh, brackets and ducting.

  1. No air, no hydraulicsMechanical pedal drive with spring-loaded electrode force: a 415 V socket and a water line are all it needs.
  2. Force-first weld initiationThe switch fires only after the pre-set electrode force is built up, so every spot is made under the same pressure.
  3. Six current taps + timerMatch current to the job in six steps (50–100%); the solid-state timer gives the same weld time, spot after spot.
  4. Water-cooled copperArms, holders and electrodes are water-cooled for all-day duty and long electrode life.

How it works

From pedal to spot in one movement

The hero animation slowed down: watch the force build first, and the current fire only after it.

  1. 1. PositionPlace the parts between the electrodes. Deep throat and open arms make wire mesh, trays and panels easy to feed.
  2. 2. Press the pedalThe rocker arm closes and the spring builds about 150 kgf of electrode force.
  3. 3. Weld fires automaticallyOnly when the pre-set force is reached does the switch fire the timed current pulse: same force, same time, every spot.
  4. 4. Release and moveLift the foot, index the part to the next spot. Water-cooled electrodes keep going without a pause.

Resistance spot welding needs no filler and no gas: the joint is the parent metal, fused by the resistance heat of the sheets themselves.

Settings

Six current taps and a solid-state timer

Tap-change links set 50–100% of rated current; the timer sets the weld from 5 to 50 cycles (or 1 to 10 s). Tap a setting to see what changes.

Low tap (towards 50%)

Thin sheet and small parts: less current, a small, neat spot with no marking.

Middle taps

Everyday sheet-metal work. Set the timer so every spot gets the same weld time.

High tap (100%)

Thick sheet up to 3 + 3 mm mild steel: full current for a bigger nugget.

Change taps only with the machine off: the dial says so. Our technical team gives you the tap and time settings for your sheet thickness at commissioning.

What the ROKR 16K fixes on the shop floor

  • Inconsistent spots: Force-first initiation and a solid-state timer make spot 1 and spot 1,000 the same.
  • No compressed air on the line: Fully mechanical pedal drive: nothing to install but power and water.
  • Electrodes wearing fast: Water-cooled arms and holders keep tips cool on production duty.
  • Deep parts: 450 mm throat and 230 mm clearance reach the centre of panels and trays.
  • Transformer failures: No-leakage high-linkage design, class H insulation, impregnated windings.

For small electrical and battery tabs see the hand-operated tab welders; for nut and stud projection welding see our projection welders.

Reading the specification

Short-circuit current (8.5 kA) is what is available at the electrodes to make the spot. Throat depth and clearance set how far into a panel the pedal operated spot welding machine can reach. Electrode force of about 150 kgf is what squeezes the sheets together before the current flows.

Specifications are subject to improvement without notice. The quotation and test certificate supplied with the machine are the governing documents. Warranty terms are stated on the quotation / invoice.

Question & Answers

FAQ

Pedal Operated Spot Welding Machine — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pedal operated spot welding machine?
A resistance spot welder in which the operator closes the electrodes with a foot pedal. On the ROKR 16K the pedal rocks the upper arm, a spring builds the electrode force and a switch fires the timed weld current only once that force is reached. No compressed air or hydraulics are needed.
What thickness can the ROKR 16K weld?
Two sheets of mild steel up to 3.0 mm each, stainless steel up to 2.8 mm each and brass up to 1.5 mm each, with the standard electrodes.
What power supply does it need?
AC 380/415 V ±15%, connected across two phases of a three-phase supply, through a 30 A disconnect switch with 15 mm² copper cable. Rating is 16 kVA.
Does the pedal operated spot welding machine need water cooling?
Yes. Arms, electrode holders and electrodes have hose connections for water cooling; the transformer is air cooled. A small circulation tank or a mains tap is sufficient.
How is weld current and time set?
Current with six tap-change links from 50% to 100% (change taps with the machine off), and time on the solid-state timer from 5 to 50 cycles or 1 to 10 seconds.
How deep can it reach into a panel?
Throat depth is 450 mm with 230 mm clearance between the arms, and the electrode stroke is 40 mm.
Can I weld galvanised or coated sheet?
Yes, with a higher tap and adjusted time; electrodes need more frequent dressing on coated material. Tell us the coating and thickness and we will confirm settings.
How do I get the price and delivery time?
Request a quote on this page or message +91 88008 82983 on WhatsApp with your material, thickness and part size. You will receive a GST quotation with delivery time, usually the same working day.
Tell us your sheet thickness and part size — we will confirm the settings and send a quotation today.
