Overview
The CPG-NM is a pug cutting machine — a portable, semi-automatic oxy-fuel cutter that drives itself along a rail so the torch moves at a constant speed and the cut edge comes out straight and square. It handles plate up to 110 mm thick, cuts circles across the 100–1200 mm diameter range with the circle attachment, and tilts the torch up to 45° for weld bevels. Affordable, simple to operate and light enough to carry, it is the standard first cutting machine for fabrication shops all over India.
The NM-type cutter uses NozzleMix technology: fuel gas and oxygen mix inside the nozzle, not in the torch body, so there is no risk of backfire during cutting. The machine runs on acetylene, propane / LPG or natural gas depending on what your shop already uses. A die-cast aluminium body with ventilation slots keeps the motor and electrics cool through a full shift.
Who buys it: fabricators moving from hand cutting to machine cutting; workshops that need clean edges without a grinding pass; and site teams that need a cutter that fits in the van. If you also want to carry a plasma torch or a MIG torch on the same carriage, look at the UNITRACK-45K welding and cutting carriage; for template-guided shapes see the WING1800 profile gas cutting machine; for programmed profiles step up to the DynaCut ProX portable CNC plasma cutting machine.

What is the CPG-NM and how does it work?
It is a motorised carriage with an oxy-fuel cutting torch mounted on an adjustable arm. The carriage rides on a rail laid on the plate; a small electric motor drives it forward at a speed set on a rotary resistance dial between 160 and 900 mm/min. Because the torch moves at a constant speed and a constant height, the kerf is even, the drag lines are straight and the bottom edge is clean — the difference between a machine cut and a hand cut.
The torch holder gives 80 mm of horizontal and 60 mm of vertical adjustment, so the nozzle can be set to the cut line and the correct standoff without moving the rail. Tilt the holder up to 45° and the same setup produces a bevel for weld preparation. Swap the rail for the circle cutting attachment and the carriage pivots around a centre pin to cut rings and holes across the 100–1200 mm diameter range.
To run it you need a 220/240 V single-phase socket, oxygen and your fuel gas with regulators, and a rail laid parallel to the cut. Preheat the edge with the torch, open the cutting oxygen, and start the drive.
Why fabricators choose the CPG-NM
Clean edges, less grinding
A constant-speed cut leaves a square, slag-free edge that usually goes straight to fit-up.
Less scrap
Accurate cuts to the line mean parts come out to size the first time instead of being re-cut.
Safer cutting
NozzleMix design removes backfire risk, and the operator stands back from the cut instead of guiding the torch by hand.
Low cost of ownership
Uses the gas you already have; nozzles are the only regular consumable and are stocked by Cruxweld.
Key features
NM-type NozzleMix cutter
Gas mixing inside the nozzle for a stable flame and no backfire.
Rotary speed control
Dial the travel speed from 160 to 900 mm/min to suit plate thickness.
Bevel up to 45°
Tilting torch holder for single-bevel weld preparation.
80 / 60 mm torch adjustment
Horizontal and vertical adjustment to set the nozzle without moving the rail.
Extendable rail
1800 mm straight cut as standard; add rails for longer plate.
Die-cast aluminium body
Ventilated housing keeps the motor and electrics cool; only 10.5 kg to carry.

Consumables and compatibility
Fuel gas: acetylene for the fastest preheat, propane / LPG for the lowest running cost, or natural gas where it is piped — each with its own NM nozzle series. Oxygen and fuel gas need regulators and flashback arrestors on the cylinders.
Nozzles: the NM cutting nozzle is chosen by plate thickness and gas type and is the only regular consumable; sizes are stocked by Cruxweld.
Plasma option: a plasma torch holder can be fitted so the carriage carries the torch of your plasma cutting machine for faster cuts on thinner plate and stainless.
How to use the CPG-NM
1
Lay the rail. Place the rail on the plate parallel to the cut line and set the machine on it. For circles, fit the circle attachment and set the centre pin.
2
Set the torch. Adjust the holder so the nozzle sits over the line at the correct standoff, and tilt it if a bevel is needed. Connect the gas hoses.
3
Set the speed. Plug into 220/240 V and turn the rotary dial to the travel speed for the plate thickness.
4
Cut. Light the torch, preheat the edge to cherry red, open the cutting oxygen and switch on the drive. Stop the drive and close the oxygen at the end of the cut.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of a pug cutting machine from Cruxweld?
The price depends on the rail length, the nozzle set for your fuel gas and whether you add the plasma torch holder. Send your requirement on WhatsApp to +91 88008 82983 and we will send a quotation the same working day.
What thickness can the CPG-NM cut?
It cuts carbon steel plate up to 110 mm thick with oxy-fuel. Match the nozzle size and travel speed to the thickness for the cleanest edge.
Which gases can it use?
Acetylene, propane / LPG or natural gas with oxygen, each with the matching NM nozzle. The NozzleMix design means there is no backfire risk with any of them.
Can it cut circles and bevels?
Yes. The circle attachment cuts diameters across the 100–1200 mm range, and the torch holder tilts up to 45 degrees for bevel cutting.
What power supply does it need?
A 220/240 V single-phase supply at 50/60 Hz. The drive motor draws very little power, so any workshop socket is enough.
What is the difference between the CPG-NM and the UNITRACK-45K?
The CPG-NM is a dedicated oxy-fuel pug cutter at the most economical price. The UNITRACK-45K is a heavier multi-purpose carriage that carries oxy-fuel, plasma or MIG torches and cuts thicker plate. Choose the CPG-NM for gas cutting, the UNITRACK-45K if you also want plasma cutting or mechanised welding.
How long a straight cut can it make?
1800 mm on the standard rail; rails join end to end for longer plate.
What is the delivery time and warranty?
Delivery time depends on stock and your location; we confirm it with the quotation. Warranty terms are stated on the quotation and supported by our technical team on WhatsApp and video call.
