Most of the welding in India happens where there is no three-phase supply: a fabrication shop on a 230 V connection, a customer’s site board, a farm shed, a hire-fleet generator. The ARC251iS 250A inverter welding machine is built for exactly that. It draws a maximum of 7.5 kVA from a single-phase socket, compensates for mains fluctuations of ±20%, and holds a steady arc while the supply sags under other loads.
Inside is an IGBT inverter with digital current control for a stable, low-spatter DC arc, reliable ignition with rutile and basic electrodes, and anti-stick to release a frozen electrode without burning the holder. A three-digit display shows the set current; a single knob sets it. Nothing to learn, nothing to misadjust.
The 250A inverter welding machine sits in a steel case with moulded impact bumpers front and rear, louvred sides and forced-air cooling; class H insulation and IP23S protection for outdoor work.
A 250 A class used to mean three phase. The ARC251iS 250A inverter welding machine takes its full output from an ordinary 230 V single-phase supply — a 32 A socket in the shop, a site distribution board or a portable generator — because the inverter, not the transformer, sets the arc.
An arc welder’s open-circuit voltage is what sits on the electrode holder whenever you are not welding. On a dry shop floor it is harmless; in a ship’s double bottom, a wet trench or a boiler drum it is the voltage that goes through a sweating welder lying on steel. A Voltage Reduction Device watches the output and, whenever no arc is burning, reduces the holder voltage to a safe level. The moment the rod touches the plate the full open-circuit voltage returns and the arc strikes normally.
If your tender or safety officer asks for “VRD-equipped” welding sets, the ARC251iS qualifies as supplied.
Typical DC ranges; follow the electrode box for the exact setting. 7018 low-hydrogen, 6013 rutile, stainless and cast-iron rods all run on the ARC251iS.
