Overview

Overview

A 400 amp MIG welding machine built for daily fabrication

The CWMIG400iJ is a MIG welding machine 400 amp class inverter for medium to heavy fabrication. It pairs ultra-smooth arc characteristics with a separate wire feeder, so one welder can run long production seams in the shop and take the same machine to site.

Its IGBT inverter runs cool and efficiently, holds a stable output across a wide supply tolerance, and adds crater controls to fine-tune the start and end of each weld.

40–400 AMIG · FCAW · MMA

40–400 A output

From thin sheet at the low end to multi-pass welds on heavy plate at the top.

Three processes

MIG/MAG with gas, gasless flux-cored (FCAW) and stick (MMA) from one power source.

Separate wire feeder

Stepless wire speed, 1.5–20 m/min. Carry the feeder to the job; the power source stays at the mains.

Smooth, stable arc

Variable inductance and crater controls for less spatter and cleaner starts and stops.

Three processes, one machine

MIG with gas, gasless flux-cored, and stick welding

Pick the process for the job, not the machine.

MIG / MAG · gas shieldedProduction welding

Solid wire with shielding gas for clean, fast welds in the shop.

  • Mild steel with CO2 or an argon mix
  • Stainless steel and aluminium with the right wire and gas
  • Long seams with 4T trigger mode
FCAW · gaslessSite and outdoor work

Self-shielded flux-cored wire makes its own shield, so there is no gas cylinder to carry.

  • Works in wind where gas would blow away
  • Structural steel, sheds, gates and repairs
  • Same feeder and torch as MIG
ARC / MMA · stickRepairs and tight spots

Switch the selector to MMA and weld with stick electrodes.

  • Rusty or painted steel and maintenance jobs
  • Hard-to-reach joints far from the feeder
  • Welding current and arc force on the panel

Put the MIG 400 welding machine torch on a carriage

The carriage moves the torch at a set speed and the CWMIG400iJ supplies the arc. One operator gets long, uniform welds with less spatter, less rework and less fatigue.

Why fabricators choose it

What changes on your shop floor

01

Less spatter, less grinding

A stable inverter arc with inductance control lays a cleaner bead, so parts go to painting or fit-up with less dressing.

02

One machine for the whole shop

MIG for production, gasless wire for site jobs, and stick for repairs. No second machine to buy or carry.

03

Feeder goes to the job

The separate feeder moves with the welder; the power source stays near the mains.

04

Ready for automation

Put the torch on a Cruxweld welding carriage when you need long, uniform welds.

Question & Answers

FAQ

400 amp MIG welding machine: questions buyers ask

What can the CWMIG400iJ weld?
Mild steel with gas-shielded or gasless flux-cored wire, stainless steel and aluminium with the right wire and gas, and stick electrodes in MMA mode. Current runs from 40 to 400 A, from light sheet up to multi-pass welds on heavy plate.
Can the MIG 400 welding machine weld without gas?
Yes. With self-shielded flux-cored wire (gasless FCAW) the wire makes its own shield, so no cylinder is needed. Set the polarity the wire maker specifies. It is ideal for site and outdoor work.
Can the MIG 400 welding machine weld stainless steel and aluminium?
Yes. Stainless steel uses stainless wire with an argon-rich gas mix. Aluminium uses aluminium wire with pure argon, U-groove drive rolls and a PTFE liner. Our technical team confirms the kit for your job.
Does the MIG 400 welding machine do stick (MMA) welding?
Yes. Switch the selector to MMA and connect an electrode holder. Welding current and arc force are set on the front panel.
What power supply does the MIG 400 welding machine need?
A 415 V three-phase, 50/60 Hz supply with a tolerance of plus or minus 15%. Maximum input is 16 kVA, so size the breaker and cable for that.
Which wire sizes does the MIG 400 welding machine take?
Wire from 0.8 to 1.4 mm diameter. The separate feeder has stepless wire speed from 1.5 to 20 m/min.
What are 2T and 4T on a 400 amp MIG welding machine?
In 2T you hold the torch trigger to weld and release it to stop. In 4T you press once to start and once to stop, which is easier on long seams.
Can I use the MIG 400 welding machine with a welding carriage?
Yes. A Cruxweld welding carriage holds and moves the MIG torch while the CWMIG400iJ supplies the arc. WeldyFi and Dynex 5M suit fillet welds, DynaTwin 200M welds both sides at once, and DynaFlex 100S suits tanks and pipes. Our team confirms torch and cable fit.
What is the MIG 400 welding machine price and delivery time?
WhatsApp +91 88008 82983 with the material, thickness, torch and cable length you need, and your city. Our team replies with the price and delivery time.
