A Clean 30° Weld Bevel on Every Tube End. Clamp It, Switch On, Done.
The CRUXWELD BEVEX 63 is a portable pipe beveling machine for tubes and small-bore pipe from 28 to 63 mm outside diameter, with walls up to 12 mm. A self-centring clamping block locks it onto the outside of the tube, a 1300 W motor drives the cutter through a spiral bevel gear, and the automatic feed takes the tool into the pipe end. The result is a cold, machined 30° bevel, ready for the root pass — no grinding, no gas, no heat.
Pipe Beveling Machine for Boiler Tubes and Small-Bore Pipe
Every butt weld on a tube starts with the bevel. If the angle wanders or the root face is uneven, the welder fights the fit-up, the root pass needs repair and the joint takes twice as long. The BEVEX 63 pipe beveling machine takes that variable away. It clamps on the outside of the tube, centres itself and machines the end with a single-point HSS tool, so the bevel comes out at the same angle all the way round, on every tube.
It is built for the jobs where small tubes are many and access is poor: boiler water walls, economiser and superheater coils, heat-exchanger bundles and process pipe racks. The compact C-type head slides over the tube end, the motor sits behind it, and one operator does the whole job with a hand on the side handle. Some buyers call it a pipe bevelling machine or a tube end prep machine — the job is the same: a clean, repeatable weld preparation.
28–63 mm OD
Ten clamping block sizes cover tubes from 28 to 63 mm outside diameter.
Walls up to 12 mm
Heavy-wall boiler and process tube, not only thin pipe.
Automatic feed
The tool feeds into the pipe end and returns on its own; the operator steadies the machine.
Cold machining
Chips, not sparks: no heat-affected edge and no oxide scale to grind off.

What happens in the cut
1
The matching clamping block goes in and the T-handle screw locks the machine on the tube.
2
The motor turns the cutter around the pipe end and the automatic feed takes the HSS tool into the wall.
3
Chips curl away from the tool — no sparks, no heat on the tube.
4
The finished 30° bevel: even all round and ready for fit-up and the root pass.
Cutting in the workshop: chips, not sparks.

The weld prep
What a Machined 30° Bevel Does for Your Butt Weld
Two tube ends bevelled at 30° form a 60° V-groove (section through the tube wall).
When two tube ends bevelled at 30° are fitted together they form a 60° V-groove. The root face left at the bore carries the root pass, and the open V lets the welder reach the full wall with TIG or stick. When both ends come off the same pipe beveling machine, the groove is identical all the way round, so the gap, the root pass and the fill passes stay consistent from one joint to the next.
✓Even angle all the way round — no facets from a hand grinder
✓Bevel referenced from the tube’s own outside surface, so it runs true to the tube
✓Bright machined metal: no oxide or scale from gas cutting
✓The same result on joint after joint, operator after operator
How it works
Four Steps from Rough Cut to Weld-Ready Tube End
1Choose the block
Pick the clamping block marked with your tube OD — 28, 32, 38, 42, 45, 51, 54, 57, 60 or 63 mm — and fit it in the clamp.
2Clamp on the tube
Slide the C-type head over the tube end and tighten the T-handle screw. The block centres the machine on the outside of the tube.
3Switch on and bevel
Start the motor. The cutter turns around the tube end and the automatic feed takes the 30° HSS tool through the wall.
4Release and weld
The tool returns, the T-handle is loosened and the pipe beveling machine lifts off. The tube end is ready to fit up and weld.
Why fabricators choose it
What Changes When You Machine the Bevel
01
No more grinder bevels
A hand-ground bevel changes with every operator and every tube. The BEVEX 63 cuts the same 30° angle on the first tube and the hundredth.
02
Easier root passes
An even groove and root face give the welder a constant gap — the basis of a sound, repeatable root pass.
03
No heat, no scale
Gas-cut bevels leave oxide and a heat-affected edge that must be ground back. A machined bevel is bright metal, ready to weld.
04
Goes to the tube
It clamps on tube ends where they are — in a boiler panel, on a pipe rack, at height — instead of carrying tubes to a lathe.
05
One operator
Clamp, switch on and let the automatic feed work. One person with one pipe beveling machine bevels tube after tube without a helper.
06
Runs on 220 V
Single-phase 220 V, 50 Hz: a site board or a workshop socket is all this pipe beveling machine needs.

Know your machine
BEVEX 63 Main Parts
Six parts do the work. The feed wheel on top sets the tool position, the carrying handle steadies the machine, the clamping block grips the tube and the locking nut closes it. The drive motor turns the cutter through the spiral bevel gear, powered through the power cable from a 220 V, 50 Hz single-phase supply.
✓Keep the power cable clear of the cutting area
✓Use the block that matches the tube OD — never force a block onto a different size
✓Wear eye and ear protection while the tool is cutting
Clamping blocks
Clamping Block Sizes for 28–63 mm Tubes
Each clamping block is machined to one outside diameter, so the pipe beveling machine grips the tube on its full curve and centres itself without packing or shims. Choose the block that matches your tube:
Working with a tube size that is not on this list? Send us the outside diameter and wall thickness before you order, and our technical team will confirm the right clamping block for your job.
Tip: measure the actual OD with a vernier — boiler and heat-exchanger tubes are specified by outside diameter, process pipe often by nominal bore.
One block per outside diameter.

Reading the specification
Outside diameter and block sizes tell you which tubes the pipe beveling machine clamps — one block per OD from 28 to 63 mm. Max wall thickness is the heaviest section it bevels: 12 mm. The 30° HSS tool sets the bevel angle, and the 1300 W motor on 220 V single phase means any workshop or site socket can run it.
Specifications are subject to improvement without notice; the quotation and test certificate supplied with the machine are the governing documents. Warranty terms are stated on the quotation / invoice.
A portable machine that clamps onto a pipe or tube and machines its end to a set angle, ready for welding. The BEVEX 63 pipe beveling machine clamps on the outside of tubes from 28 to 63 mm OD and cuts a 30° bevel with an HSS tool, without heat or grinding.
What pipe sizes can the BEVEX 63 bevel?
Tubes and pipe from 28 to 63 mm outside diameter, with wall thickness up to 12 mm. The machine uses one clamping block per outside diameter: 28, 32, 38, 42, 45, 51, 54, 57, 60 and 63 mm.
My tube OD is not on the block list. Can it still be bevelled?
Each block fits one outside diameter, so the block must match your tube before the pipe beveling machine can clamp it. Send us the OD and wall thickness on WhatsApp before you order, and our technical team will confirm the right clamping block.
Which bevel angle does it cut?
The BEVEX 63 is supplied with 30° HSS tool bits (three pieces), which give a 60° V-groove when two bevelled ends are fitted together. If your welding procedure calls for a different angle, tell us when you enquire.
Is the feed automatic?
Yes. Once the machine is clamped and switched on, the tool feeds into the pipe end and returns automatically. The operator holds the side handle and watches the cut; the feed wheel on top sets the tool position.
What power supply does it need?
A 220 V, 50 Hz single-phase supply. The drive is a 1300 W Metabo BEV 1300-2 motor with two gears and adjustable speed.
Why use a pipe beveling machine instead of a grinder or gas cutting?
A grinder bevel depends on the operator and is rarely even all round; a gas-cut bevel leaves oxide and a heat-affected edge to grind back. The BEVEX 63 machines the bevel cold, so the angle is the same on every tube and the surface is bright metal, ready to weld.
