CRUXWELD manufactures the upset butt welder to make joints that are mechanically and metallurgically similar to the parent metal. The process suits higher production than conventional welding methods, and because no wire, rod or gas is needed, it is an economical way to weld. The machine runs a cycle of heating, upset butt welding and flash removal, and is used for copper rod, brass rod, carbon steel and other metals.
The transformer is air cooled and built with good-quality silicon steel. The frame is rigid, with extra metal where strength is needed, to withstand the upset thrust. These machines are used in industries where high production is required, and the automatic cycle helps produce more joints in less time.
Customer input helps us build each machine to suit individual needs. Every machine goes through a long trial run and is dispatched only after it is marked tested OK. Packing is to export standards, and our technical team supports customers worldwide on WhatsApp and video call.

A CRUXWELD upset butt welder joins rods, bars and blades end to end by resistance heating and upset force. The range runs from the 20 kVA CUBW-20 to the 60 kVA CUBW-60 on two lines of a 380/440 V three-phase supply, and welds mild steel from 4 mm up to 22 mm diameter depending on the model.
Because the joint is made from the parent metal itself, there is no filler wire, rod or gas to buy. The cycle is heating, upset and flash removal, and the finished joint is mechanically and metallurgically similar to the parent metal. That makes upset butt welding well suited to higher production than conventional methods.
It depends on the material and the largest diameter you weld. For example, mild steel up to 14 mm suits the CUBW-20, while bars above 20 mm and up to 22 mm need the CUBW-60. Copper and aluminium need a larger model for the same size.
Yes. All models weld bimetal blades (20–65 mm across the range), and the CUBW-20, CUBW-25 and CUBW-30 also weld carbon steel blades from 30 mm to 75 mm.
