The CRUXWELD PulseGem 100 is a jewelry spot welding machine that makes tiny, argon-shielded pulse-arc welds with a fine tungsten electrode. Clip the piece, touch it to the tip and the pulse fires on contact.

Closing a permanent bracelet on a customer’s wrist, re-joining a broken link or tacking a wire on an orthodontic appliance — these joints are millimetres across and sit next to stones, solder or skin. A flame heats too much. The PulseGem 100 does not.
It strikes a pulse of arc lasting 3 to 30 milliseconds from a sharpened tungsten electrode under argon, so the heat stays in a pinpoint. Set the power and time, or pick one of five programs, then touch the work to the tip.

Watch a jump ring close. The piece meets the tip; the pulse does the rest. Change the retract time to see how the electrode’s pause changes.
The retract time is selectable — 0.5, 1 or 1.5 s — to suit your hand speed.
This is the PulseGem 100 front panel. Tap a power step, a pulse time and a program to see what each control does to the current pulse.

Power is set in 10 steps, each 10% of full power; pulse time runs from 3 to 30 ms. Start low and test on a similar piece first.

The power switch, the fused power inlet and the argon inlet sit on the rear panel. Hover or tap the numbers.
The argon line connects through the supplied pressure regulating valve and gauge.
