ROTO 1000M · circle cutting guide

Cut true circles, not wobbly ones.

The ROTO 1000M is a magnetic circle cutting guide for hand plasma and gas cutting torches. Stick the six-magnet base on the centre, set the radius on the 500 mm engraved bar, clamp the torch and walk it round: clean 100 to 1,000 mm circles on steel plate.

Overview

NROTO 1000M
How it cuts

A fixed centre and a set radius make every circle round

Freehand circles drift. The ROTO holds the torch at a fixed distance from a magnetic pivot, so the torch can only travel round the circle you set. You control the speed; the guide controls the shape.

The result

Guided circular cutting for holes, discs and rings

Holes and blanks cut in steel plate with a magnetic circle guide and a Cruxweld plasma torch. The locked radius keeps the torch on a set circular path; finished size and edge quality still depend on setup, kerf and travel speed.

Four steps

Using the circle cutting guide

  • 01Fix the centreSet the centre point on the punch mark. Six magnets lock the base to the plate.
  • 02Set the radiusSlide the bar to the radius on the engraved scale and tighten the wing screw.
  • 03Clamp the torchFit the torch in the 36.5 mm holder, using an adapter ring if needed. Set wheel height.
  • 04Walk it roundStart the arc and guide the torch round the pivot at an even speed.
Magnetic base

Six permanent magnets and a centre point hold the pivot

The base sits on the centre punch mark and the magnets clamp it to the plate, so the centre does not creep while you cut. The wing screw on top locks the radius bar.

Torch fit

One circle cutting guide for plasma and gas cutting torches

Compatible with selected plasma and gas torches, subject to holder and adapter fit. The holder clamps the torch body, so fit depends on the torch head size, not on the machine model.

Accuracy tip

Allow for the kerf and the part comes out the right size

The torch removes a strip of metal as wide as the cut. Set the radius half a kerf larger for a disc and half a kerf smaller for a hole.

Cutting a disc

Torch path outside the line, so the disc keeps its size. Radius = disc radius + half the kerf width.

Cutting a hole

Torch path inside the line, so the hole keeps its size. Radius = hole radius − half the kerf width.

Aluminium or stainless steel? These need a suitable plasma cutting system; oxy-fuel gas cutting is for mild and low-alloy steel. The magnets hold only on ferromagnetic plate, so on aluminium and non-magnetic stainless steel the centre needs a separate fixing, such as a clamped steel pad.

Question & Answers

FAQ

Circle cutting guide: questions buyers ask

What is a circle cutting guide?
A circle cutting guide, also called a circle cutting compass, holds a cutting torch at a fixed distance from a centre pivot so the torch travels in a true circle. The ROTO 1000M uses a six-magnet centre base and a 500 mm engraved radius bar.
What circle sizes can the ROTO 1000M cut?
Circles from 100 to 1,000 mm diameter, which is a radius setting of 50 to 500 mm on the bar.
Which torches does it fit?
It is compatible with selected plasma and gas torches, subject to holder and adapter fit. The holder bore is 36.5 mm and two adapter rings are supplied for Cruxweld FINELINE hand torches, P80, AG60 and SG55-type plasma torch heads, and G01-30 and G01-100 type gas cutting torches. WhatsApp a photo of your torch and our technical team will confirm the fit.
Can I use it for gas cutting?
Yes. Clamp a G01-30 or G01-100 type oxy-fuel cutting torch in the holder and cut circles the same way as with a plasma torch.
Does it work on aluminium and stainless steel?
A suitable plasma cutting system can cut aluminium and stainless steel; conventional oxy-fuel gas cutting is for mild and low-alloy steel. In either case the magnets only hold on ferromagnetic plate such as mild steel, so on aluminium and non-magnetic stainless steel the centre needs a separate fixing, such as a clamped steel pad.
Does it rotate by itself?
No. It is a manual guide with no motor and no power supply. You move the torch round the pivot at an even speed.
Does it increase how thick I can cut?
No. Cutting thickness and speed come from your plasma cutter or gas cutting set. The guide controls the shape of the cut.
How do I get an exact hole or disc size?
Allow for the kerf. Set the radius half a kerf larger for a disc and half a kerf smaller for a hole. Parts that need a machined finish may need light grinding or machining.
How do I get the price?
WhatsApp +91 88008 82983 with a photo of your torch and the circle sizes you cut. Our team confirms the fit and sends a GST quotation.
