Pneumatic battery tab welder · 10 kVA · double pulse
Air-Driven Electrode Force. Same Weld on Every Cell, Shift After Shift.
The CRUXWELD CBS10P is a 10 kVA pneumatic battery spot welding machine for production battery-pack assembly. Compressed air (0.3–0.8 MPa) drives the twin Ø3 mm electrodes down with a fixed, repeatable force; a powerful DC supply then fires a double pulse of up to 3500 A that fixes 0.02–0.3 mm pure nickel or nickel-alloy strip to the cell — practically no sparks, no discolouration and no heat into the battery. Foot-switch triggered, 0–99% energy adjustment, 230 V single phase.
Pneumatic Battery Spot Welding Machine for Production Packs
A pneumatic battery spot welding machine takes the one variable a pedal machine leaves to the operator — electrode force — and fixes it. On the CBS10P the air cylinder brings the electrodes down with the same pressure on cell 1 and on cell 5,000, so weld strength, spot size and strip flatness stay identical across the pack and across the shift. The operator only positions the strip and taps the foot switch.
Behind the head is the same 10 kVA DC double-pulse supply as our pedal model: the first pulse cleans and seats the strip, the second makes the weld in milliseconds. Heat input is so small that the battery’s characteristics do not change, and the weld spot keeps the colour of the strip. Energy is set 0–99% on the digital display, so the same machine goes from 0.02 mm strip on small cells to 0.3 mm strip on power packs.
18650 pack under the twin Ø3 mm electrodes of the CBS10P.
01
Constant electrode force
Air-driven head at 0.3–0.8 MPa — no operator-to-operator variation in weld pressure.
02
Hands-free trigger
Foot electric switch fires the weld; both hands stay on the pack and strip.
03
No heat into the cell
Millisecond double pulse — the battery’s characteristics are unchanged.
04
Phone cells to power packs
0.02–0.3 mm pure nickel or nickel alloy; low to high current in one turn of the dial.

What you will see
1
Nickel strip laid across a tray of 18650 cells and slid under the twin electrodes.
2
One tap of the foot switch — the air cylinder presses, the double pulse fires, two spots at once.
3
The welded pack turned over: uniform spots, strip colour unchanged, no heat marks.
4
The pneumatic head and copper work table — a pack moves cell to cell with no pause.

How it works
Air Pressure + Double Pulse = a Repeatable Battery Weld
Pneumatic head, twin electrodes and the copper work table.
1. Set air and energy
Connect shop air (0.3–0.8 MPa) and set weld energy 0–99% on the digital display for the strip thickness in use.
2. Position
Lay the nickel strip across the cell terminals and bring the pack under the twin Ø3 mm electrodes on the pneumatic battery spot welding machine’s work table.
3. Foot switch
The cylinder drives the electrodes down 15 mm with constant force. Pulse one seats the strip; pulse two — up to 3500 A for milliseconds — fuses strip and terminal.
4. Next cell
Electrodes retract automatically on the pneumatic battery spot welding machine. Move the pack to the next terminal — no cooling pause, no electrode dressing between cells.
This is resistance spot welding tuned for batteries: minimal heat input, no filler, and a joint that keeps the full conductivity of the nickel strip.
Pneumatic vs pedal
When to Choose the Pneumatic CBS10P
Both hands on the pack — the foot switch fires the weld.
▶Production volume: hundreds of packs a day, where operator fatigue on a pedal would show up as weld variation.
▶Several operators, one standard: electrode force is set by air pressure, not by how hard someone presses.
▶Thicker strip: 0.3 mm nickel needs firm, consistent pressure — the air cylinder gives it every time.
▶Compressed air already on the line: 0.3–0.8 MPa is standard shop air.
▶Ergonomics: foot switch only; no leg effort over a full shift.
What Makes This Pneumatic Battery Spot Welding Machine Different
01
10 kVA DC power supply
Up to 3500 A for welds in a very short time — practically no sparks, no discolouration.
02
Pneumatic electrode drive
Air cylinder, 0.3–0.8 MPa input, 15 mm electrode travel; force set once, repeated on every cell.
03
Double pulse welding
Seat-then-weld sequence for firmer, cleaner spots on nickel strip.
04
MCU control, digital display
High-speed microprocessor control with 0–99% energy adjustment shown on the panel.
05
Foot electric switch
Hands-free triggering keeps both hands on the pack.
06
Ø3 mm electrodes
Twin electrodes for pure nickel or nickel-alloy strip 0.02–0.3 mm.
Weld current set 0–99% on the digital display.
Weld energy is dialled in on the front panel and shown as a two-digit percentage. The setting is recalled exactly from shift to shift — combine it with air-set electrode force and the pneumatic battery spot welding machine produces the same spot whoever is operating it.
▶Working voltage AC 230 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz, single phase
▶Weld current 00–99% adjustable
▶Safe design: no exposed arc, no battery-fire risk from stray heat

Specifications from the CRUXWELD CBS10P datasheet; subject to improvement without notice. The quotation and test certificate supplied with the machine are the governing documents. Warranty terms are stated on the quotation / invoice.
A battery tab welder in which compressed air, not the operator’s foot or hand, drives the electrodes onto the nickel strip. On the CBS10P an air cylinder (0.3–0.8 MPa) applies a fixed electrode force and a foot electric switch fires the 10 kVA double-pulse weld.
What air supply does the CBS10P need?
Standard shop air at 0.3–0.8 MPa (about 3–8 bar). Electrode travel is 15 mm.
What strip thickness can this pneumatic battery spot welding machine weld?
Pure nickel or nickel-alloy strip from 0.02 mm to 0.3 mm, with weld current adjustable from 00 to 99%.
Will the weld heat damage the lithium cells?
No. The double pulse lasts milliseconds, so heat input is too small to change the characteristics of the battery; the weld spot keeps the colour of the strip.
What power supply does this pneumatic battery spot welding machine need?
Single-phase AC 230 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz. Output is 10 kVA with a maximum welding current of 3500 A.
CBS10P or CBS10M — which should I choose?
Both give the same 10 kVA double-pulse weld. Choose the pneumatic CBS10P for production volume, several operators or thick 0.3 mm strip, where air-set electrode force keeps every weld identical. Choose the pedal CBS10M where there is no compressed air or for lower-volume workshop and repair use.
How big and heavy is it?
The CBS10P measures 300 × 600 × 550 mm and weighs 52 kg, so it sits on a normal workbench.
